Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 June 2026

The short version: Compiss keeps your location on your device, doesn't track you, doesn't have servers, and doesn't collect, store, or share any personal data. There are no accounts and no analytics.

Your location

Compiss asks for your location so it can work out which public toilet is nearest and point you toward it. This happens entirely on your iPhone. Your location is:

  • used only while you're using the app, to calculate distance and direction;
  • never sent to us or any third party;
  • never stored on a server — because Compiss doesn't have one.

What we collect

Nothing. Compiss has no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no crash trackers, and no accounts. We don't know who you are, where you are, or that you're using the app at all.

Toilet data

The list of public toilets is bundled inside the app and read locally. Compiss makes no network requests at runtime, so using it doesn't send any data anywhere. The dataset comes from toiletmap.org.uk and is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence.

On-device storage

Any history or favourites you create are saved only on your device so the app can show them back to you. They never leave your phone, and removing the app removes them.

Children

Compiss is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
